Manchester United are interested in signing Bayern Munich striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting on a free transfer next summer, according to reports.
The former Stoke City forward has been in sensational form recently for the Bundesliga giants, scoring eight goals in his last nine games in all competitions.
Choupo-Moting, 33, is in the final year of his deal in Bavaria and he has caught the eye of the Red Devils.

According to Media Foot (opens in new tab), there is very strong interest from Old Trafford, where the striker’s versatility and experience, combined with his contract situation, are appreciated.
With Cristiano Ronaldo looking ever-more likely to depart when his deal runs out at the end of 2022/23, Erik ten Hag’s side are looking for reinforcements up front.

However, Choupo-Moting’s recent form could earn him an offer for a contract extension at Bayern, as Fabrizio Romano (opens in new tab) reports that the Germans want to keep him and will discuss fresh terms in the next few months.
The 68-time Cameroon international spent one season in the Premier League with Stoke City in 2017/18, scoring five goals in 30 games for the Potters.

His CV also includes spells at Hamburg, Mainz, Schalke 04 and PSG, where he won two Ligue 1 titles and two domestic cups.
The 33-year-old has been with Bayern since 2020, winning back-to-back Bundesliga titles and the FIFA Club World Cup and scoring 26 goals in 71 appearances overall.

However, Erik ten Hag wants the five-time Ballon d’Or winner to see out his contract at Old Trafford. It has also emerged that Ronaldo didn’t receive a single vote for this year’s Ballon d’Or, as he finished outside the top three for the first time since 2005.
Meanwhile, United are reportedly prepared to fight it out with Chelsea and PSG to sign Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar – and have been linked with a mega-money move for Atletico Madrid and Portugal forward Joao Felix.
